Matin Lens Cap w/ Elastiek 72mm M-6280-6
Matin Lens Cap w/ Elastiek 72mm M-6280-6 | Keep the lens front covered between shots
Without a cap, the front of a lens is left exposed while the camera is packed or between shots. The Matin Lens Cap w/ Elastiek is a straightforward way to cover that front when you’re not taking pictures. It’s sized at 72mm, so it suits a lens that takes a 72mm cap. The elastic tether helps keep the cap close when you remove it, rather than leaving you to set it down and remember where it went. That makes it handy for everyday camera use: cover the lens for storage, take the cap off to shoot, then put it back when you’re finished. It’s a practical, uncomplicated accessory for photographers who want a simple cover and prefer not to keep track of a loose cap.
A small habit that helps
Keep the cap on whenever the lens isn’t in use, and remove it before you start shooting. Replacing it when you put the camera away gives the lens front a cover during storage and transport. It’s a simple routine, especially when you’re moving between taking pictures and packing up.
Specialist Note
This is a basic lens cover, not protection for the whole camera or lens, but that’s exactly why it’s a sensible buy for everyday use. The 72mm size makes it a match for a lens that uses a 72mm cap; it’s worth keeping that size in mind when choosing one. I also like that this version has an elastic tether: take the cap off for a quick street photo, and it stays close instead of becoming a loose item in your bag. It suits someone who wants a plain, easy-to-use cover for pauses between shots and for putting the camera away. Just remember to remove it before shooting.
