Meike MK-Eosrg Metal Hand Grip Bracket | Added support for handheld video

For handheld video that needs extra support, a shoulder rig gives you a more supported way to frame a scene than holding the camera without one. The Meike MK-Eosrg Metal Hand Grip Bracket is a metal hand-grip bracket for this kind of shoulder-rig use. It suits videographers who want a defined grip point while filming handheld, whether they’re recording a seated interview or following a subject through a short walk-through. Use the shoulder-rig setup to support the camera and the grip to guide your framing; it’s a practical way to keep your hold consistent while you move or reposition. Its purpose is added support for handheld video, rather than a promise of a particular stabilised look. If your work is mostly tripod-based, this rig may spend more time off the camera than on it. For handheld video days, it offers a focused way to build support into your setup.

Specialist Note

Handheld filming can leave your hands doing two jobs at once: supporting the camera and managing the framing. The Meike MK-Eosrg gives you a hand grip as a clear place to hold the setup, while its shoulder-rig format adds support for handheld work. The metal construction suits a bracket that forms part of the support you’re holding. For a seated interview, use the rig to support the camera and make small framing adjustments from the grip; for a short moving walk-through, keep one hand on the grip as you follow your subject. That gives your hold a defined point of contact. It’s for added support, though, not a substitute for a tripod when you need a locked-off frame. I’d point this out to video shooters who spend a lot of time working handheld.
