Nedis CAT7-CABLE PiMF RJ45 M RJ45 M 5.00m LSZH White Box

Nedis CAT7-CABLE PiMF RJ45 M RJ45 M 5.00m LSZH White Box | A five-metre cable with screened pairs

When a network connection needs to reach a little farther across a room, a five-metre cable can save you from placing equipment right beside the network point. This Nedis cable has an RJ45 male connector at each end, for a wired connection between equipment with matching RJ45 sockets. It’s a CAT7 cable, with PiMF and LSZH noted in the product name, and comes in white. The length is the main practical detail: it gives you some room to route the cable along a wall or around furniture, though the best path depends on your setup. I’d choose it when you specifically want a five-metre RJ45 cable and the CAT7, PiMF and LSZH designations matter to your selection. There’s no speed figure in the product name, so I wouldn’t use it to assume a particular connection rate.

Understanding the labels

PiMF means pairs in metal foil: the cable’s pairs are individually shielded with foil. That’s a useful distinction when comparing cable descriptions, but it doesn’t tell you how a particular network will perform. LSZH stands for low smoke zero halogen, a description of the cable’s sheath material. The title also identifies the cable as CAT7, without giving a frequency or data-rate figure. Those labels describe the cable; they don’t replace checking that the devices you’re connecting have RJ45 sockets. If you’re planning a tidy run, the white finish may suit a light-coloured wall or desk area. A five-metre cable offers more reach than a short patch lead, but it’s still worth measuring the route rather than relying on a straight-line distance. That’s the simplest way to avoid ending up just short.
