Nedis USB-Cable | Extra reach for a USB connection

The defining choice here is the 3-metre length: it gives you room to connect devices that aren’t right beside each other. This Nedis cable has a male USB-A connector at one end and a 5-pin male USB Mini-B connector at the other, making it a straightforward link between those two port types. It uses USB 2.0 and is rated for data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps. That makes it suited to a setup where you need a wired connection over a little distance, rather than a short lead that keeps both devices close together. The black finish is discreet among other cables. One practical point: the extra reach is handy when you need it, but you’ll have more cable to manage if the connection points are close.

Choosing the right cable length

Think about where the connected devices will sit and how the cable needs to run between them. A longer lead can make it easier to route a connection around a desk or keep devices in their preferred positions, without having to place them immediately next to each other. The trade-off is extra slack to gather or route when you don’t need the full length. The connector names also make the intended connection clear: one end is USB-A, the other is USB Mini-B. If those are the ports you need to join, this cable provides that direct connection. Its stated speed is 480 Mbps, so it’s a USB 2.0 cable rather than a higher-speed USB format.
