Nedis USB-Cable USB 2.0 USB-A Male USB-A Female 480 Mbps Gold Plated 3.0m

Nedis USB-Cable USB 2.0 USB-A Male USB-A Female 480 Mbps Gold Plated 3.0m | Extend a USB-A connection by 3 metres

The useful detail here is the male-to-female USB-A layout: this cable gives a USB-A connection more reach without changing the connector type. It suits anyone who needs to place a USB-A-connected device farther from its existing USB-A connection, such as when the nearest socket isn’t quite where the device needs to sit. At 3 metres, it can help with that extra distance around a desk or workspace. The cable uses USB 2.0 and is rated at 480 Mbps, so its stated data rate is clear and specific. Its contacts are gold plated. This is a simple extension cable, rather than a cable for switching between different connector types. Match the male end to a USB-A socket and use the female end as the new connection point. It’s a practical fix for a reach problem; the main thing to keep in mind is that it won’t solve a mismatch in connector type.

For a longer USB-A connection

Use the cable between a USB-A socket and a device or cable with a USB-A plug when the original connection needs more distance. The female end provides a socket at the extended position, so you can make the connection there instead of at the original socket. That’s the useful distinction from a cable with two matching ends: this one has a defined direction, from male to female.

The 3-metre length gives you room to position the connected item farther away, though the cable still needs a route between the two points. Keep the intended setup in mind: both ends are USB-A, and the cable’s stated transfer rate is 480 Mbps. If your setup calls for a different connector, this cable won’t convert it. For a USB-A extension, its description is refreshingly straightforward.
