Nitecore D4 EU: Charge four rechargeable cells at once

A drawer of different rechargeable cells is exactly where the Nitecore D4 EU earns its place: this four-slot smart charger handles Li-ion, NiMH and Ni-Cd batteries. Each slot monitors and charges its battery independently, so you can use the charger for several cells at once instead of keeping a separate charger for every supported type. It identifies the chemistry automatically and selects a charging mode for the battery; LiFePO4 cells are supported too, with their type selected manually. The LCD shows charging progress, voltage, current and elapsed time, so you can see what’s happening rather than relying on a single indicator light. Use it to charge compatible cylindrical cells such as 18650 Li-ion batteries, or common rechargeable sizes including AA, AAA and C. Its support for small-capacity batteries and IMR cells adds useful flexibility. One detail to note: LiFePO4 requires manual selection.

Good to know

The D4 monitors temperature to guard against overheating, and reverse-polarity protection addresses batteries inserted the wrong way around. Its housing is made from flame-retardant ABS, with a design intended to dissipate heat. These are useful safeguards around a charger handling several cells; they complement, rather than replace, the D4’s automatic charging controls.
