L'OM10 a été la première carrosserie grand public de la série OM. Lancé en 1979, il acceptait la gamme complète d'objectifs OM et la plupart des accessoires OM à un prix inférieur. Le prix inférieur se reflétait dans la construction de cet appareil photo et dans les fonctionnalités disponibles. Cependant, il restait un appareil très performant et reflétait les lignes élégantes établies par les modèles compacts OM-1 et 2.
