Olympus PBC-E01 Body Cap For PT-E01 | A cover made for the PT-E01

Keep the PT-E01’s body opening covered when the camera is out of the housing. The Olympus PBC-E01 Body Cap For PT-E01 is the dedicated cap named for that housing, giving owners a straightforward way to close the opening between uses. It suits photographers who remove their camera from the PT-E01 for storage, handling or preparation, and want the housing opening covered while they do so. Its value is specific: it’s a body cap for the PT-E01, rather than a general-purpose accessory. That makes it a simple piece of kit to keep with the housing for the moments it’s not in use. The product information doesn’t establish any further sealing or protective rating, so treat it as a cover rather than as a substitute for a waterproof closure. If your setup centres on the PT-E01, this is the named cap for that housing.

Specialist Note

The cap’s closed face gives the PT-E01 opening a cover while the camera is out of the housing. I’d keep it with the housing if you regularly separate the two: fitting the body cap during storage keeps that opening covered, and putting it on while you prepare the camera gives you a clear, simple way to close the housing between steps. The important detail is the specific PT-E01 fit in its name; this isn’t described as a universal body cap. It’s a small, purpose-specific accessory, and its role is equally specific. I wouldn’t treat it as a waterproof seal, but as the cover intended for the PT-E01.
