Permajet Smooth Rag 310GSM 60INCHES 15m

Permajet Smooth Rag 310GSM 60INCHES 15m | Wide photo paper for planned print runs

The defining decision is the Smooth Rag format: it gives you a named paper type to consider alongside the roll’s substantial 60-inch width and 15-metre length. Permajet lists it at 310gsm, so the weight is clear too. This is photo paper for photographers and printmakers planning wide images or a run of prints, rather than someone looking for a small pack of sheets. Its generous width is the detail I’d start with when deciding if it suits a project; the length helps you plan how much paper you’ll have to work with. The name tells you it’s a smooth rag paper, but I wouldn’t read extra claims about its finish or printer compatibility into that alone. If those dimensions fit your print plans, this gives you a specific paper format to assess.

Choosing the size

For a wide-format project, start by comparing the 60-inch width with the print dimensions you intend to make. That’s the practical question before anything else: a roll this wide only makes sense if your work calls for that much width. Then consider the 15-metre length in relation to how many prints you expect to produce. It gives you a useful amount of paper to plan around, though the number of prints will depend on the sizes you make and how you use the roll. The 310gsm weight and Smooth Rag name help distinguish this option when you’re weighing up papers by their stated details. I’d choose it for a project with a clear need for this width and length, rather than buying on the name alone.
