PocketWizard Pre-Trigger Cable Mamiya AF | Trigger off-camera flash for your shoots

Off-camera flash gives portraits and product shots more control over where the light falls. The PocketWizard Pre-Trigger Cable Mamiya AF is a flash trigger and transmitter accessory for photographers building that kind of setup around Mamiya AF. Its role is to fire off-camera flashes, so you can arrange the light away from the camera rather than relying on a flash mounted on it. That’s useful when you want to shape a portrait with light from a chosen direction, or give a product photograph more deliberate lighting. This is a specialist cable rather than a flash or a general lighting tool: it belongs in a flash-trigger workflow. If you already work with Mamiya AF and off-camera flash, it’s a focused accessory for getting the light to fire when you need it. The name also makes clear which camera system this cable is intended for.

Specialist Note

One cable is the defining practical detail here: this is a pre-trigger accessory, not a flash unit, so its job is in the flash-trigger setup rather than providing light itself. The Mamiya AF designation matters too; this is intended for a Mamiya AF-based workflow, not as a universal cable. For portraits, use it as part of an off-camera flash arrangement to fire the light while you shape the scene. For product shots, it serves the same trigger role when you want to place the flash to suit the subject. It’s a focused accessory, so it makes sense when Mamiya AF and off-camera flash are already part of your setup.
