PolarPro Goldstache Filter - 72mm Threaded
PolarPro Goldstache Filter - 72mm Threaded | Cut glare and reflections
Without a polarising filter, reflections from water or glass can compete with the subject, and a bright sky may look flatter than it did to your eye. The PolarPro Goldstache is a threaded polarising filter for photographers who want more control over those reflections and the look of the sky. It’s particularly useful for landscapes, waterside scenes and images made through windows, where reflected light can hide detail or distract from the composition. The effect depends on the light and your angle to it, so it won’t make every scene look different; it’s most noticeable when the sun is off to the side. The 72mm thread gives you a clear fit to look for on your lens. If you want to manage glare while shooting, rather than rely on changes in editing later, this filter gives you that control at capture.
Specialist Note
A polariser isn’t one I’d leave on for every shot: it can make a wide blue sky look uneven when the sun is at the wrong angle. Still, for a scene with distracting glare, it’s a very direct tool. The 72mm threaded mount means it screws onto a lens with a matching filter thread, so check that measurement on the lens before choosing it. For reflections on a pond or shop window, turn the filter while watching the reflected area and stop when the view looks right. Landscape photographers can also try it with the sun to one side to deepen the sky. It suits people who want to shape reflections in-camera, with the light conditions guiding the result.
