Radius Large Hole Urchin LAV Windshield Black (Single)
Radius Large Hole Urchin LAV Windshield Black (Single) | A focused windscreen for lav mics
Radius Large Hole Urchin LAV Windshield Black (Single) is a black lavalier-microphone windshield with a large-hole urchin design. It’s for people recording speech with a lav mic who want a windshield at the microphone when wind is a concern. Its role is to help reduce wind noise reaching the mic, making it relevant to outdoor dialogue, interviews and presenter audio. The large-hole style and urchin form are the defining details; this is a specific lavalier accessory, not a general cover for other microphone types. For a documentary crew or video creator recording one person speaking, it’s a focused option to consider when air movement could interfere with the recording. The black finish keeps the accessory visually low-key. It’s sold as a single, so it suits a one-microphone setup or a need for one individual windshield.
Specialist Note
At the mic, this is a simple, direct way to address wind before it becomes a distraction in recorded speech. The large-hole design is the detail to match to your setup, and the urchin form makes this a specific style of lavalier windshield rather than a generic microphone cover. For a one-person outdoor interview, fit the windshield at the lav mic and use it to help tame wind noise in the dialogue; it can also suit presenter audio recorded outside. The package is a single windshield, so it covers one microphone, not a multi-mic setup. I’d treat that as a clear, practical buying point when you’re preparing a kit for more than one speaker.
