Rycote 30/55 Mini Windjammer For Foam
Rycote 30/55 Mini Windjammer For Foam | Help reduce wind noise in outdoor recordings
Outdoor recordings can pick up distracting wind noise, making speech harder to hear. The Rycote 30/55 Mini Windjammer For Foam is designed to help reduce that problem when used with a foam microphone windscreen. It’s a practical accessory for video makers, interviewers and anyone recording spoken audio outside who wants cleaner-sounding dialogue without changing their microphone setup. The windjammer is intended for foam, so it works as an addition to that type of windscreen rather than as a replacement for it. Use it when a light breeze is enough to interfere with a take, such as during an outdoor interview or a location recording. It’s a focused solution: its purpose is to help control wind noise, not to improve every aspect of a recording. Choose it by its 30/55 designation and its stated use with foam.
Specialist Note
A common mix-up is treating a windjammer as a replacement for the foam windscreen; this one is specifically made for foam, so think of it as an extra layer for windy recording conditions. The 30/55 designation is part of the product name, so use that exact reference when identifying this version rather than choosing by the word “Mini” alone. For an outdoor interview, fit it with the foam windscreen in place and record a short voice check before the conversation starts. The same approach suits location dialogue for video. It’s a targeted wind-noise accessory, not a fix for room echo or poor microphone placement, so keep the mic sensibly positioned too.
