Rycote 45/100 Large Diaphragm Mic Foam Single
Rycote 45/100 Large Diaphragm Mic Foam Single | A simple foam cover for large-diaphragm mics
Rycote 45/100 Large Diaphragm Mic Foam Single is a single foam accessory for use with a large-diaphragm microphone. It suits anyone who needs a foam cover for this type of mic, whether setting up a voice recording, a spoken-word session or another recording that uses a large-diaphragm microphone. Its strength is its specific purpose: it gives you a foam piece for the microphone rather than a broader kit of accessories to sort through. The “Single” in the name is handy when you need one, and the 45/100 designation identifies this particular Rycote item. The title doesn’t explain what those numbers refer to, so I wouldn’t use them to judge dimensions or fit. Instead, choose it by its stated large-diaphragm microphone category. It’s a focused accessory for a straightforward job, not a general-purpose microphone bundle.
Specialist Note
In use, this is a simple foam piece to add to a large-diaphragm microphone setup, without extra parts or a complicated setup to manage. I’d consider it for a spoken-word recording or a vocal session when your chosen mic is in the large-diaphragm category; place the foam on the mic before you start recording. The “Large Diaphragm” wording is the key here: it points you to the intended kind of microphone, rather than suggesting a universal cover. And because this is the Single version, it’s suited to replacing or adding one piece at a time, not stocking up for several mics. Keep the 45/100 name with your product notes so you can identify this exact Rycote foam again.
