Rycote Hi Wind Cover 6
Rycote Hi Wind Cover 6 | A named wind cover for microphone setups
When moving air threatens to distract from a recording, a wind cover is the kind of microphone accessory that earns its place in the kit. The Rycote Hi Wind Cover 6 is identified as a wind cover for microphone use; the name gives you the brand and the specific product designation, without making claims about materials or performance. That makes it important to use the full name when you’re matching it to a particular recording setup. It’s relevant to anyone recording where wind may reach a microphone, from location audio to outdoor interviews. A wind cover’s job is to help limit wind noise reaching the microphone, but the result depends on the cover and the setup. The useful starting point here is the exact product name: Rycote Hi Wind Cover 6.
Specialist Note
“Hi Wind Cover 6” is a precise name to keep in mind when you’re sorting microphone accessories for a recording setup. Rycote is the maker named here, and the product category is microphone accessories; that tells you what kind of kit it belongs with, without making assumptions about a particular microphone fit. I’d use the full product name when checking it against the requirements of an outdoor interview or another recording exposed to wind. One practical point: the name alone doesn’t tell you how it performs in a specific wind or microphone arrangement, so don’t treat “Hi Wind” as a promise of a particular result.
