The compact camera-mount format puts the Saramonic CamMic shotgun condenser microphone on your camera, close to the action rather than relying on the camera’s built-in mic. Its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound from in front, a useful approach for creators recording speech and other nearby audio. The CamMic connects directly to DSLR, mirrorless and video cameras, and its plug-and-play operation keeps setup straightforward. For a smartphone or tablet, a suitable adapter is sold separately. That makes it an option for a creator who switches between a camera rig and mobile recording, while keeping the microphone itself compact. Use it for a short interview, a presenter speaking to camera or dialogue in a video recorded with a compatible camera; the directional pickup is intended to concentrate the recording on the subject. Good to know
