Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 1.8 6.6x6.6
Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 1.8 6.6x6.6 | Six stops of light control
In bright daylight, a long exposure can turn moving water into a soft blur only if you can cut enough light without changing your chosen aperture. The Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 1.8 is a neutral-density filter for that job, with a 1.8 density that reduces incoming light by six stops. That makes it useful when you want slower shutter speeds in bright conditions, or want to keep a wider aperture without letting the scene overexpose. Its 6.6 × 6.6 format suits photographers working with filter equipment designed for that size. The filter is aimed at people who need a substantial, defined reduction in light rather than a small exposure tweak. Use it to make a moving subject blur more clearly, or to hold a chosen exposure in bright light; the effect depends on your starting shutter speed and lighting.
Specialist Note
Bright light can leave you with a shutter speed that’s too fast for the motion you want to show; this filter gives you a clear six-stop reduction to work with. With its 1.8 density, a starting exposure of 1/60 second becomes about one second at the same aperture, a practical range for softening moving water. The 6.6 × 6.6 format is the key fit consideration, so it suits photographers whose filter workflow uses that size. I’d choose it when you need a substantial, fixed cut in light, not fine adjustment: the 1.8 strength won’t vary as conditions change.
