Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Radiant Soft 2 4x5.65
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Radiant Soft 2 4x5.65 | Light control for motion-picture work
Keep bright scenes manageable while retaining the exposure choices you want. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Radiant Soft 2 is an ND filter in the 4x5.65 format, for filmmakers and image-makers whose setup is built around that filter size. An ND filter reduces the light reaching the camera, which can help you keep a chosen shutter speed or use a wider aperture when the scene is bright. That’s useful for outdoor filming, where available light can otherwise limit your exposure choices, and for carefully controlled shots where consistency matters. Its best fit is a production that already works with 4x5.65 filters and needs neutral-density filtration as part of its exposure approach. The product name identifies the Radiant Soft 2 variant; choose it by its full name when matching a planned setup or keeping your filter selection consistent.
Specialist Note
4x5.65 is the format to build your filter setup around: your rig needs to accept that exact rectangular size. The “Radiant Soft 2” designation is worth keeping intact in your production notes, especially if you’re selecting filters to repeat a particular setup. I’d consider this for daylight motion-picture work where you want ND filtration to preserve your chosen shutter speed, or for a bright scene where opening the aperture is part of the look. Fit the filter, then meter the shot rather than assuming an exposure change from the model name. It suits crews already working in this format; it isn’t a casual screw-on filter purchase.
