SmallRig 4224 Cine Filter 4x5.65 ND0.3 (1 Stop)

SmallRig 4224 Cine Filter 4x5.65 ND0.3 (1 Stop) | Keep your chosen aperture in bright light

Managing bright light while keeping the aperture and motion look you want is where a neutral-density filter helps. The SmallRig 4224 Cine Filter is a 4x5.65-inch ND0.3 filter, giving one stop of light reduction for filmmakers working in that filter format. It’s useful when daylight is too bright for your preferred exposure and you don’t want to stop down simply to compensate. Keep your chosen shutter setting, reduce the light by one stop, then adjust your exposure as needed. That makes this filter particularly suited to controlled cine work where consistent exposure matters across a scene. Its job is specific: it reduces incoming light. It doesn’t provide the glare or reflection control associated with a polarizer, so choose it for exposure control rather than reflections.

A one-stop adjustment

One stop means half as much light reaches the camera. For example, if you compensate using shutter speed alone, 1/50s becomes 1/25s. If you want to keep your shutter setting, make the corresponding exposure adjustment elsewhere instead. The filter is a small, defined correction rather than a heavy reduction for very bright conditions.
