SmallRig 5224 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Fujifilm X Half (Black)
SmallRig 5224 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Fujifilm X Half (Black) | Added support for handheld video
The SmallRig 5224 combines an L-shaped mount plate and a wooden handle in a shoulder rig for the Fujifilm X Half. That makes it a focused option for X Half owners who want extra support while shooting handheld video, rather than a general-purpose rig with a long list of functions. The wooden handle gives you a dedicated place to hold the setup, while the plate forms the camera-supporting part of the rig. It’s suited to short clips, informal interviews and other video where you want a steadier hold than handling the camera alone can offer. Keep your grip settled and your movements measured as you record; the rig adds support, but it doesn’t do the work of a stabilizer or remove camera movement. If you shoot stills most of the time, this may be more equipment than you need. For handheld video with the Fujifilm X Half, its purpose is clear and specific.
Specialist Note
The SmallRig 5224 is made to give handheld video with the Fujifilm X Half a more supported hold. I’d point it out to someone making walk-and-talk clips or slow panning shots who wants a handle to hold instead of relying on the camera alone. The wooden handle gives your hand a clear contact point; keep your grip steady and move at an even pace to help keep footage controlled. The L-shaped plate is the camera-supporting part, so this is a purpose-built rig rather than a handle on its own. One honest point: it helps with support, but your technique still matters. If your video work is mostly tripod-based, you may not get much use from it.
