SmallRig 5481 Baseplate w/ Airtag Slot For Sony Alpha 7C II / Alpha 7CR (Black)
SmallRig 5481 Baseplate w/ Airtag Slot For Sony Alpha 7C II / Alpha 7CR (Black) | A baseplate with a place for an AirTag
The feature that sets this baseplate apart is its built-in AirTag slot: it gives owners of the Sony Alpha 7C II or Alpha 7CR a dedicated place for a tracker on this tripod accessory. That makes it especially relevant if you want your camera gear to be easier to keep track of when it’s stored or set down. The product is made for those two Sony camera models, so it’s a specific accessory rather than a general baseplate for multiple camera systems. Its black finish keeps the look simple alongside a black camera body. Consider it if you want a baseplate for your Alpha 7C II or Alpha 7CR and the AirTag slot is useful to your way of organising gear. It’s also a straightforward option for someone adding a small accessory to a camera setup without changing camera models or looking for a different kind of tripod accessory.
Specialist Note
First-time baseplate buyers can concentrate on how the plate fits the camera and miss the question of where a tracker will go; this SmallRig gives an AirTag its own slot. For an Alpha 7C II or Alpha 7CR owner who uses an AirTag to keep tabs on camera gear, that’s the detail I’d weigh up first. It can be handy when the camera is packed away or set down among other belongings. The baseplate is specified for those two models, so it suits owners of either rather than someone seeking a broadly compatible accessory. One practical point: the slot is for an AirTag, so it’s most useful if you already use that tracking system.
