Tokina Cinema Expander PL To PL (KCT-2151)
Tokina Cinema Expander PL To PL (KCT-2151) | Keeps PL at both ends of your cinema setup
Keep a PL-to-PL connection in your cinema setup with the Tokina Cinema Expander PL To PL. It’s for camera crews and cinematographers working with PL fittings who need an expander within that setup. The clearest reason to consider it is right in the name: it’s a cinema expander with PL connections on both sides, so the connection type remains consistent through the component. That makes it relevant when planning a rig or a lens change around PL connections. It’s best suited to a defined place in a cinema build, rather than shoppers seeking a general adapter or a product chosen for a particular image effect. The title doesn’t give a magnification factor or other optical detail, so base your decision on the PL-to-PL format and the role you need it to fill. If those match your setup, this Tokina is a focused option to consider.
Specialist Note
The Tokina Cinema Expander PL To PL is for keeping a PL connection on both sides of an expander in a cinema rig. That PL-to-PL detail matters when your setup is built around those fittings: it gives you a clear way to identify the connection type as you plan a lens change or assemble a rig. The Cinema designation also makes its intended setting clear; I’d consider it for a PL-based cinema workflow, not as a general-purpose accessory. Use the model identifier KCT-2151 when discussing or sourcing this specific unit, so there’s no ambiguity about which Tokina product you mean. It’s a specialist part, so the fit in your rig is the key decision.
