TTArtisan 90mm f/1.25 Fujifilm GFX-Mount | FullFrame | Fast aperture for expressive portraits
The defining choice is the unusually wide f/1.25 maximum aperture: it lets you work with a very shallow depth of field and gives you room to shoot in lower light. This 90mm short telephoto prime is made for Fujifilm GFX-Mount medium-format cameras and suits photographers who prefer to focus manually. Portraits are its natural strength, with the 34° angle of view giving a composed, close perspective. It’s also a considered option for events, where available light and a clearly separated subject can help shape the frame. The lens is an interchangeable, fixed-focal-length design rather than a zoom, so you’ll compose by adjusting your position. If you enjoy taking time over focus and framing, it offers a distinctive way to make portraits and event images with a medium-format camera.
Specialist Note
At a softly lit reception, a speaker pauses near the edge of the room and this 90mm lens gives you a composed view without making the moment feel close-up. I’d open to f/1.25 when you want the background to recede, then take a moment to place focus carefully on the face. The manual-focus design suits a deliberate portrait session particularly well; for a moving event subject, you’ll need to keep adjusting focus as they move. Fujifilm GFX users who enjoy that hands-on pace will get the most from it. It’s a specialist lens, not the one I’d reach for when quick reframing matters most.
