Urth 39mm Magnetic CPL (Plus+)
Urth 39mm Magnetic CPL (Plus+) | Tame reflections and shape bright skies
Without a polarising filter, reflections from water or glass can dominate a frame, and a bright sky may look pale beside the landscape. The Urth 39mm Magnetic CPL (Plus+) is a circular polarising filter for photographers who want more control over those effects. A CPL can reduce certain reflections and deepen the appearance of a blue sky when the light and shooting angle are right; rotate its position to judge the change through your viewfinder or screen. Its magnetic attachment is useful when you want to put the filter on or take it off without handling a screw-on filter. The 39mm size is a key detail when choosing a filter for your setup, so match that measurement to the filter fitting you intend to use. It suits landscape, travel and everyday photography where glare is getting in the way. The result is selective control, not a universal fix: polarisation varies with the scene and the angle of the light.
Specialist Note
A CPL won’t remove every reflection, and its effect can change across a wide scene; the reason to choose this one is the magnetic format paired with a clearly specified 39mm size. I’d consider it if you often move between scenes where glare matters and scenes where you’d rather shoot without a polariser. For a water view, rotate the filter while watching the reflection, then stop when the surface detail comes through as you want it. With a blue sky, check the effect before framing tightly, as the result depends on the light’s direction. The 39mm measurement deserves a careful match to your filter fitting.
