Urth 43mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000)
Urth 43mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) | Four filters for shaping light outdoors
Urth 43mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) brings four named filter types together in a 43mm-size kit, for photographers who want more control over reflections and exposure outdoors. The UV filter handles ultraviolet light, while the CPL polariser can reduce reflections from surfaces such as water and glass. The ND8 and ND1000 filters cut the light reaching the camera, making longer exposures possible in bright conditions. That gives you options for smoothing moving water or showing movement in clouds without relying on fading daylight. It suits photographers who enjoy working with natural light and want different filter effects available in one kit. The key point is that these filters do different jobs: the polariser manages reflections, while the neutral-density filters help with exposure. Choose the one for the effect you want, rather than treating the set as four interchangeable pieces.
Choosing a filter for the scene
For reflections on a pond or window, use the CPL and adjust its position while looking through the camera to find the effect you want. For a longer exposure in daylight, select an ND filter and adjust shutter speed to suit the light. The UV filter has a different role: it filters ultraviolet light rather than extending exposure or controlling reflections.
Specialist Note
Photographers who frame waterfalls, moving clouds or reflective canals will get the most from this kit. The 43mm size is the key detail to match to your lens’s filter size; once it fits, you can choose between the filters for different effects. ND8 cuts the light by three stops, handy when you want a slower shutter speed in daylight—for example, 1/125 sec becomes about 1/15 sec. ND1000 cuts roughly ten stops, so a starting exposure of 1/30 sec can become around 30 seconds for visibly blurred water. I’d use the CPL when reflections are the problem, not as a substitute for the ND filters. The honest limitation is that each filter has a specific job; this set is most useful if you’ll make use of more than one.
