Urth 95mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000)
Urth 95mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) | Four filter options for light and reflections
Bright conditions can leave you with a shutter speed that’s too fast for the motion you want, while reflections on water or glass can distract from the scene. This Urth kit brings together four filter types for lenses with a 95mm filter thread: UV, CPL, ND8 and ND1000. The CPL helps manage reflections; the two ND filters reduce the light reaching the lens, giving you more room to choose a slower shutter speed in daylight. That makes the kit particularly relevant to landscape photographers, and to anyone photographing reflective surfaces or moving water. You can choose the filter to suit the scene rather than trying to solve every lighting problem with exposure settings alone. The set’s appeal is its range of options in one named kit. The practical trade-off is that the denser ND1000 calls for more deliberate exposure planning than the lighter ND8.
Choosing a filter for the scene
For reflections, reach for the CPL and adjust it while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen. For motion in bright light, ND8 is the lighter option; ND1000 is the stronger one. A UV filter is also part of the set, so you have that filter type available when it suits your subject or shooting approach.
Specialist Note
“Can I use the ND1000 for a long exposure in daylight?” Yes—that’s the filter in this set I’d choose when you want moving water to blur or clouds to show motion. Its 10-stop reduction gives you much more room to lengthen the shutter time; use a tripod and judge the exposure for the scene. The ND8 is the more modest option at three stops, so it’s easier to work with when you want a smaller change. This kit suits someone using lenses with a 95mm filter thread and who wants both exposure control and a CPL for reflections. One practical point: the ND1000 is very dense, so it’s less convenient when you need to compose and react quickly.
