Westcott L60-B Bi-Colour COB LED 1-LIGHT Backpack Kit

Westcott L60-B Bi-Colour COB LED 1-LIGHT Backpack Kit | One light for a focused setup

When you’re planning a simple studio-lighting setup, a one-light kit can be a sensible place to start. The Westcott L60-B is a bi-colour COB LED light kit, presented as a backpack kit. That makes it relevant if you’re looking for a single lighting unit rather than building around several lights from the outset. Its name also gives you the key points to weigh up: it uses COB LED lighting, offers bi-colour output, and is configured as a one-light kit. For a photographer who wants to work with one source, that’s a clear brief. It’s best suited to situations where one light is all you need to plan around; it isn’t a multi-light setup. The backpack-kit format may also appeal when portability is part of your buying decision, though the product name alone doesn’t tell you what else is included.

Choosing a one-light kit

Before choosing any single-light setup, think about the kind of scene you need to light and whether one source fits the job. A single light keeps the setup focused, but it also means you’ll need to decide where that source should go and what role it needs to play. If you regularly work with several separate sources, this kit’s one-light configuration may not match the way you prefer to work. If your plans are built around one light, the title gives you a useful starting point for comparing options: this is a bi-colour COB LED kit, rather than a product described as a multi-light package. The backpack wording is another point to consider if carrying the kit matters to your workflow. Renz recommends checking that the product’s stated format and one-light configuration suit the job you have in mind.
