Yongnuo YN-1200 Pro Bi-Colour LED Video Light

Yongnuo YN-1200 Pro Bi-Colour LED Video Light | Choose the colour of your light

Bi-colour is the defining choice in the Yongnuo YN-1200 Pro: it gives this LED video light two colour qualities to work with, rather than locking you into one. That’s useful when you’re trying to make a subject sit naturally in the light already in a room. It’s a video light for people who want to shape the look of a shot while recording, whether that’s a simple talking-head setup, an interview or a small filmed scene. The name also tells you what to expect: this is a continuous light, so you can see its effect as you work, rather than judging it only after a flash. I’d look at the YN-1200 Pro if colour choice matters more to your setup than having a light with a single fixed character. Its appeal is specific and practical: LED video lighting with a bi-colour design.

When bi-colour is useful

In video, the light on your subject needs to make sense alongside the other light in the scene. A bi-colour video light gives you a choice of colour character, which can help when the room’s existing light is part of the shot. That makes this type of light relevant for interviews or recording in lived-in spaces, where you may want the subject to feel connected to the surroundings instead of looking separately lit. It’s also useful to think about the look you want before setting up: a light can affect the mood of a frame as well as how clearly you see the subject.

A straightforward fit for video work

The YN-1200 Pro is clearly aimed at continuous video lighting, not at still photography flash use. If you’re choosing a light for a filming setup, the bi-colour label is the detail to focus on: it points to colour choice as part of the product’s purpose. Keep your decision grounded in the kind of scenes you record and the light already present in them. There’s no need to make the setup more complicated than the shot calls for; this model’s stated appeal is simple to understand, a Yongnuo LED video light with a bi-colour design.
