7Artisans 6mm f/2.0 - Canon RF-Mount - Black | Go wide for landscapes and skies

Bring a broad sweep of landscape, a whole façade or more of the night sky into your composition with this ultra-wide prime. The 7Artisans 6mm f/2.0 is an interchangeable lens for Canon RF cameras, made for photographers who want to work with an unusually wide view rather than step back and lose the scene’s sense of place. It’s especially suited to landscape, architecture and astrophotography, where foreground detail or the shape of a building can become part of the picture. That generous view also asks for a little care: close objects can appear much larger than distant ones, and the edges of the frame can change how a scene feels. It’s a distinctive option for photographers who enjoy composing deliberately and want a manual approach to framing and focus.

Specialist Note

A narrow view can make a room, building front or night sky feel frustratingly hard to fit into one frame; this 6mm lens gives you room to include more of the scene. Its f/2 maximum aperture is useful when photographing the stars: open it fully, focus manually on a bright star, and compose around the sky rather than fighting for a wider frame. For architecture, keep the camera level and place the building carefully in the frame to avoid exaggerated converging lines. I’d recommend it to photographers who enjoy shaping a picture with position and perspective. One thing to watch: very close subjects can look oversized at the edges, so keep important details nearer the centre.
