ACT 3m High Speed Ethernet Cable HDMI-A Male - Male (AWG30)

ACT 3m High Speed Ethernet Cable HDMI-A Male - Male (AWG30) | A three-metre HDMI-A connection

Trying to connect two pieces of equipment, only to find the cable run is awkward? This ACT cable gives you a 3-metre link with an HDMI-A male plug at each end. It’s intended for setups where both connection points accept HDMI-A plugs; the matching ends make the connection straightforward once you’ve routed the cable. Its High Speed Ethernet designation and AWG30 gauge identify the cable, without making this a description of a particular resolution or device combination. This is a practical option when you need a longer reach than a short lead provides, but don’t want to plan around an unspecified length. One honest point: a cable’s stated length doesn’t tell you whether it’ll suit your room, so it’s worth measuring the route before you choose.

Plan the cable run

Measure the path the cable will actually follow, rather than the direct distance between the two connection points. A run may need to travel around a desk, behind a screen or along a wall, and those turns use up length. Leave enough room for the cable to reach each socket without pulling it tight. That’s especially worth doing if either end of the setup gets moved during normal use. The male plugs need a suitable HDMI-A socket at both ends, so check the connection points on the equipment you intend to link. Once you’ve mapped the route, compare it with the cable’s stated length and allow for the path’s bends. A little planning here can save the nuisance of discovering that the last stretch comes up short after everything is in place.
