Boya BY-WM3D Wireless Mic w/ LGHTNG +3.5mm TRS/TRRS Adapters

Boya BY-WM3D Wireless Mic with Lightning and 3.5mm TRS/TRRS Adapters | Flexible audio connections for spoken video

Boya BY-WM3D is a wireless microphone with Lightning and 3.5mm TRS/TRRS adapters, giving people who record spoken video several connector formats to work with. It suits vloggers, interviewers and anyone making direct-to-camera clips who wants to record speech without being tethered to the recording device by a microphone cable. Its strongest appeal is that choice of connection: you can match an adapter to the socket on your recording setup rather than assuming one plug will fit every device. That makes it worth considering for short interviews, on-camera introductions and other voice-led recordings. Think about the device you’ll record with before filming, then select the matching connection. The BY-WM3D is focused on capturing speech; it isn’t a general-purpose promise of a complete recording setup. For clear results, a little preparation around the connection and a quick sound check are sensible parts of using it.

Choosing a connection

TRS and TRRS describe different 3.5mm connector formats, so don’t choose by size alone. Look at the recording device’s socket and identify which format it accepts; use the corresponding adapter, or the Lightning option when that is the connection your device requires. If you’re unsure, make a brief test recording before an interview or presentation and listen back. That small check can catch a mismatched connection before you’ve recorded the whole take. It’s a straightforward step, and it’s more useful than assuming every 3.5mm socket is wired the same way.
