Boya Universal Adapter BY-K2 3.5mm TRS To USB-C
Boya Universal Adapter BY-K2 3.5mm TRS To USB-C | Bridge TRS audio to USB-C
The BY-K2 makes one deliberate connection change: it takes a 3.5 mm TRS connection across to USB-C. That gives a microphone with a TRS plug a route into a recording setup built around a USB-C port, without changing the microphone itself. It’s aimed at creators who want to keep a TRS microphone in use when their recording device offers USB-C as its audio connection. Think spoken voice, a quick interview or a compact mobile recording setup; the receiving device must support audio input over USB-C. The adapter’s value is in addressing that connector mismatch, rather than changing the sound or function of your microphone. It suits a lean setup where fewer connection hurdles matter. If your microphone and recorder already share a connector, you won’t need this adapter; when they don’t, the BY-K2 gives you a route between them.
Specialist Note
An interview is about to begin at a café table, and your microphone has a 3.5 mm TRS plug while your recorder takes USB-C. That’s where this adapter earns its place: connect those ends, then make sure the recording device is set to take audio from that input. The TRS connection lets you keep using the microphone you’ve chosen; USB-C gives you a route into a compatible recording device. I’d suggest it to a mobile creator recording spoken introductions or short sit-down conversations, especially when a separate audio setup isn’t the plan. One limit to keep in mind: changing the connector doesn’t add microphone functions or make an unsupported USB-C input work.
