Byomic Omkeerprisma (Erecting Eyepiece) 1.5X
Byomic Omkeerprisma (Erecting Eyepiece) 1.5X | A more natural, upright view
Without an erecting eyepiece, the view through an optical instrument can appear upside down, making it harder to relate what you see to the scene in front of you. The Byomic Omkeerprisma is a tripod accessory for that particular job: it gives you an upright view, which feels more intuitive when observing terrestrial subjects. Its 1.5X designation indicates a modest increase in magnification, bringing the view a little closer rather than turning your setup into a high-power system. It suits someone who already observes from a tripod and wants to scan a landscape or follow a distant subject with a more natural orientation. The result is less mental adjustment as you move between the eyepiece and the scene. This accessory is purpose-specific; its value is in the erecting view and modest magnification, rather than in adding general tripod functionality.
Specialist Note
Does the Byomic Omkeerprisma give you an upright view? Yes—that’s its defining job as an erecting eyepiece, and it makes observing a landscape feel more straightforward than working with an inverted view. The 1.5X factor gives a moderate closer view, so I’d use it to pick out a distant landmark or follow a subject from a tripod, not expect a dramatic jump in reach. It suits someone who values an easy-to-read view while observing. One honest point: 1.5X is an incremental increase, not a substitute for a higher-power setup.
