camRade Camstrap Standard | A hard case for gear in transit

Moving camera gear can mean worrying about knocks, dust or rain along the way. The camRade Camstrap Standard is a hard case for transporting and storing equipment when those everyday hazards are a concern. It suits people who want a protective case for gear between locations, or a place to keep it stored when it’s not in use. The hard-case format makes this a practical option when a soft bag doesn’t feel like enough for the handling your equipment may face. Its stated purpose includes protection from rain, but that shouldn’t be read as permission to leave gear exposed to the elements. Think of it as a more protective way to house equipment during transport and storage, not as a substitute for sensible care. If your priority is keeping gear better shielded from bumps and dust while it’s being moved or put away, this case is aimed at that job.

Specialist Note

A hard case won’t make careless handling harmless, but it does make sense when your gear has to travel or sit in storage with knocks and dust in mind. I’d consider the Camstrap Standard for carrying equipment between work locations, or for keeping it housed between uses; in both situations, put the case to work before the gear starts moving or gets put away. The supplied name also identifies 2 stainless-steel CA pieces, a useful detail when you’re distinguishing this version, though I wouldn’t assume a particular function from that wording. Rain is named among the hazards it’s intended to help with, but I’d still avoid leaving the case out in wet conditions.
