camRade Raincover Mini For Sony FX5

camRade Raincover Mini For Sony FX5 | A rain cover for FX5 shoots

Without a rain cover, you’re left keeping the camera out of the rain or finding shelter when the weather changes. The camRade Raincover Mini For Sony FX5 is a rain cover made for the Sony FX5, for camera operators who need to keep working when conditions turn wet. Its straightforward purpose is to put a cover over the camera during a rainy shoot; it’s most relevant for outdoor filming where waiting for the weather to clear isn’t practical. The name is specific about the camera it’s for, which makes it easier to identify when you’re putting together a kit for an FX5. One honest point: a rain cover shouldn’t be treated as a promise that a camera can be used in any conditions. Think of it as a practical layer for rain, and use sensible care around water.

On a rainy shoot

A cover like this is useful when rain could interrupt a take, a setup or the move between locations. It gives you an option beyond immediately packing the camera away, while keeping the focus on the job in front of you. That can matter on a planned outdoor shoot, where stopping to wait for a break in the weather may not suit the schedule. It’s also a small, specific piece of kit to consider when preparing an FX5 setup for damp conditions. The product name identifies it as the Mini version and names the Sony FX5; beyond that, the sensible expectation is simply a rain cover for that camera. Keep your use to the conditions you’re comfortable managing, and take care when handling camera equipment around water.
