Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Kit 72mm

Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Kit 72mm: Control glare and bright light

Hard midday sun, reflections and ultraviolet light call for different filter effects. The Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Kit 72mm brings three filters together for a lens with a 72mm filter thread. Use the CPL outdoors to reduce reflections from glass or water and bring more contrast to blue skies and white clouds. The ND8 cuts incoming light, useful in strong sun when you want to keep a wider aperture or use a longer shutter speed to soften moving water. The UV filter addresses the bluish cast ultraviolet sunlight can add to daytime photographs, and also covers the lens’s front element. It’s a compact set for outdoor photographers and video makers who need more than one way to manage bright conditions. A supplied pouch keeps the filters together for carrying, while the filters’ protective coating is intended to make cleaning easier.

Glass and coating

• 72mm filter thread: The filters are sized for lenses with a 72mm filter thread. Matching the thread size keeps the set specific to the lens it’s intended for.
• UV filter: As well as addressing the bluish cast that ultraviolet light can add to daytime images, it sits over the lens’s front element. That gives you a replaceable layer in front of the lens.
• Circular polariser: The CPL reduces reflections from surfaces such as windows and water. It also increases contrast and colour saturation, including the separation between blue sky and white clouds.
• ND8 filter: This neutral-density filter reduces the light reaching the camera. That’s useful in strong sun when you want to use a wider aperture or a longer shutter speed.
• Protective coating: Each filter has a multilayer coating intended to protect its surface and make cleaning easier. That’s a useful detail when filters are handled outside.
• Four-filter pouch: The case holds the three supplied filters and has room for one more. It also helps protect them from scratches while they’re being carried.
