Cokin P123 Gradual Blue B2
Cokin P123 Gradual Blue B2 | Add a graduated blue effect
When a scene would benefit from a deliberate wash of blue, the Cokin P123 Gradual Blue B2 gives you a colour filter made for that creative effect. It suits photographers who want to introduce colour selectively rather than apply the same look across the whole image. The “gradual” in its name points to a transition, while “Blue” describes the colour; the B2 designation is part of the model name. Its strength is that focused, visible colour effect, making it worth considering for skies or other parts of a composition where a blue shift supports the mood. This isn’t a neutral filter for keeping colours unchanged. It’s for making a conscious choice about colour in the frame. If you enjoy shaping an image at the camera rather than relying entirely on editing later, this filter gives you a direct, hands-on way to explore that look.
Specialist Note
The blue gradation is the defining detail here: it gives you a way to bring colour into part of a composition while keeping the effect gradual. I’d suggest it to someone who wants a stylised sky or a blue accent in a carefully framed scene. Place the transition where you want the colour to begin, then adjust your framing until the blue sits in the right area of the picture. The B2 name identifies this particular version, so it’s useful to keep the full model name to hand when choosing it. One honest point: this is an intentional colour effect, so it won’t suit a scene where you want neutral colour.
