DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Black Mist Filter
DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Black Mist Filter | Softer highlights, gentler contrast
Bright signs and reflections can look a little less harsh, with a softer, more atmospheric finish in your footage. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Black Mist Filter is a color filter for the Osmo Pocket 4P, intended to give that look in camera rather than relying on an effect added later. A Black Mist filter diffuses some light around bright points and gently softens contrast, which can be flattering for faces and appealing in scenes with practical lights. It suits Pocket 4P owners who want a more subdued, film-like mood for portraits, evening street scenes or indoor clips with lamps in shot. The effect is part of the image, so it’s worth choosing when you want softness from the start, not for every recording. For clean, punchy footage with crisp highlights, a plain look may suit you better. If a softer rendering is what you’re after, this filter gives your Pocket 4P a straightforward way to pursue it.
Specialist Note
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Black Mist Filter is best at softening bright highlights for a gentler, more atmospheric image. Its Black Mist effect is useful when you’re filming faces near windows or keeping bright shop lights in an evening street scene: leave those highlights in frame and the diffusion gives them a softer edge. It’s made for the Osmo Pocket 4P, so this is a focused option for owners of that camera rather than a general-purpose filter recommendation. One honest point: the softened contrast is a look, not a neutral correction, and it may not suit footage where you want every highlight to stay crisp. I’d use it selectively when that softer mood is the point.
