DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime 28mm T2.1-BLUE Coating-Pl&ef Mt (FT)
DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime 28mm T2.1 BLUE Coating | A wide, cinematic frame with blue anamorphic character
For narrative video that calls for a broad, cinematic composition, the DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime 28mm T2.1 BLUE Coating brings a 28mm focal length and 2X anamorphic design to filmmaking. Its blue coating gives this version a blue anamorphic flare character. The 2X squeeze means the recorded image needs to be de-squeezed in monitoring or post to see the intended wide picture. It’s an interchangeable prime lens with a Canon EF mount, suited to filmmakers building shots deliberately rather than changing focal lengths on the fly. Use it for dialogue scenes, establishing views or moving shots where the wider horizontal composition helps place people within their surroundings. The lens is designed for video and filmmaking, and its distinct anamorphic rendering makes it a considered creative tool rather than an everyday general-purpose lens.
Specialist Note
If a regular wide frame feels too familiar, this lens gives you a specific way to reshape the image: its 2X anamorphic view expands horizontally once de-squeezed. For a dialogue scene, I’d use the 28mm perspective to keep some of the setting in frame without losing the subject. T2.1 gives you room to work in lower light; open up when you need it, then adjust exposure to keep faces where you want them. Manual focus suits a planned pull between two marks, but it does ask for focus discipline during movement. I’d recommend it to filmmakers who want that deliberate, blue-flare anamorphic look and are comfortable managing focus themselves.
