The 2x squeeze gives you an anamorphic image to desqueeze in post, so this lens suits narrative scenes, music videos and carefully composed interviews more than fast-changing coverage. Its Canon EF mount makes it a fit for Canon EF setups, while the prime format keeps your framing around one chosen focal length. Use it when the shot benefits from considered camera placement and an anamorphic frame, rather than the rapid reframing of a zoom. It’s best suited to crews with time to compose a shot, not run-and-gun recording.

At T2.1, you can open the iris when the room is dim, or stop down when you want more depth of focus—exposure still needs to suit the scene. Manual focus rewards a planned pull between marks rather than a rushed change.
