Formatt Hitech 55mm Front Screw Adaptor For 85mm Holder | Connect a 55mm front screw to an 85mm holder

The 55mm front-screw fitting is the defining choice here: it gives an 85mm filter holder a connection to a lens with a 55mm front screw. This adaptor is for photographers who want to use that holder on a lens with this fitting, rather than change their filter setup. Its job is the physical link between lens and holder; it doesn’t create a filter effect of its own. That makes it useful when you’re setting up for landscape work, or when you want to use a filter in front of the lens for a longer exposure. Fit the adaptor between the lens and holder, then use the filter you need for the scene. It’s a focused accessory, with its value in matching those two sizes.

Specialist Note

Photographers framing wide skies above a landscape, or balancing a long exposure by the water, are the people this adaptor is for. The 55mm front screw gives you a direct way to attach the adaptor at the lens; you don’t have to treat the holder as a separate, unsupported part of the setup. Its 85mm holder size matters because it’s made for that specific holder format, so the pairing is clear. For a graduated filter, attach the holder and position the filter across the sky and foreground; for a long exposure, use a suitable filter in the holder. Just remember, the adaptor is the mount, not the filter itself.
