Formatt Hitech FC 95mm Superslim Stackable UV 400 Filter
Formatt Hitech FC 95mm Superslim Stackable UV 400 Filter | Slim UV filtering, ready to stack
On a bright day, when you want a UV filter in place without building a bulky front assembly, this Formatt Hitech filter gives you a straightforward option. It’s a UV 400 filter with a Superslim profile, and it’s designed to stack with other filters. The UV 400 marking identifies its ultraviolet-filtering purpose; the slim format keeps the filter profile restrained, while stackability lets you combine filters when your setup calls for it. It suits photographers using lenses with a 95mm filter thread who want UV filtering as part of their regular setup, or need a filter for a layered arrangement. Its appeal is practical rather than creative: it’s for UV filtration, not for changing exposure or adding a colour effect. Keep the intended use simple, and it has a clear place in a considered filter kit.
Specialist Note
Combining filters can make the front of a lens feel needlessly bulky; the Superslim profile helps keep this one’s footprint modest. I’d consider it for a photographer who wants UV filtration on a lens with a matching 95mm thread, or who occasionally builds a stack for a particular setup. Its stackable design gives you that option, though each added filter increases the chance of darkened corners in a wide composition, so check the edges of your frame when stacking. It’s a straightforward filter, not an exposure-control tool, so pair it with the appropriate filter when you need to change shutter speed or aperture.
