H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 62-67mm.
H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 62-67mm | Use a larger filter on a smaller thread
A larger filter can stay useful on a lens with a smaller filter thread, instead of being limited to a lens with a matching diameter. The H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring bridges a 62mm lens thread to a 67mm filter size. It suits photographers who already own a filter in that size and want to use it on a compatible lens, or who’d rather keep their filter kit to fewer sizes. Its job is deliberately narrow: it makes a size change at the front of the lens. It doesn’t replace a filter or change the effect that filter creates, so you’ll still choose the filter for the result you want, such as reducing reflections or cutting light. That can simplify a kit when your lenses have different front-thread diameters. If your lens and filter match this pairing, the ring gives you a direct way to use them together.
Using a step-up ring
Fit the ring between the lens and the filter you want to use. For a landscape, a polarising filter can help manage reflections; an ND filter can help you make a longer exposure in bright conditions. The ring provides the size connection, while the filter determines the photographic effect. It’s a simple distinction, but a useful one when choosing what to pack.
Specialist Note
New owners sometimes focus on the filter diameter and overlook the lens-side size; this step-up ring is made for that particular mismatch. The 62-to-67mm change takes a smaller lens thread to a larger filter size, so it’s useful when you want to keep using a filter you already own. I’d consider it for landscape work with a polariser to manage reflected light, or with an ND filter when you want longer exposures in daylight. The EVO-Series name identifies the ring’s place in H&Y’s range; the practical point here is the size change. It won’t create a filter effect on its own, so choose the filter for the result you want.
