H&Y K-Series ND16 + CPL 95mm Drop-In Filter
H&Y K-Series ND16 + CPL 95mm Drop-In Filter | Control light and reflections
Bright light and reflections can get in the way when you want a longer exposure or a cleaner view through reflective surfaces. This H&Y filter combines ND16 and CPL filtration in a 95mm drop-in format for the K-Series. The ND16 element reduces the light reaching the camera, giving you more room to use a slower shutter in bright conditions. The CPL element helps manage reflections, which is useful when photographing water or glass. It suits photographers already using a compatible H&Y K-Series setup who want both functions in one drop-in filter rather than handling them as separate steps. Its most practical appeal is that it brings light reduction and polarisation together in one accessory. The exact exposure you can use will depend on the available light and your chosen settings, so treat ND16 as added control rather than a fixed recipe.
Specialist Note
The 95mm drop-in format is specific to a compatible setup, so this isn't a filter to buy without the right K-Series arrangement. For photographers who already use that system, though, combining ND16 and CPL in one filter is a neat way to handle two common problems at once. I’d consider it for bright-water scenes: use the ND16 to give yourself room for a slower shutter, then use the CPL function to reduce distracting reflections on the surface. It can also help when photographing shop windows or other glass. The useful point here is the combination; you don’t have to treat light reduction and reflection control as separate filter jobs.
