H&Y K-Series ND64 + CPL 95mm Drop-In Filter
H&Y K-Series ND64 + CPL 95mm Drop-In Filter | Longer exposures with polarisation
Bright daylight can make a slow shutter speed difficult, while reflections on water or glass may distract from the subject. The H&Y K-Series ND64 + CPL 95mm Drop-In Filter combines neutral density with circular polarisation in one filter for the K-Series drop-in format. Its ND64 rating reduces the light reaching the camera, giving you more room to use a longer exposure; the CPL helps manage reflected light. That pairing is especially useful for landscape photographers working with moving water, or for scenes where reflections are part of the problem. It can also help when you want a slower shutter speed without changing the scene’s lighting. The 95mm size is part of the product name and the filter is specified for the H&Y K-Series. It’s a focused tool for controlling exposure and reflections, rather than a general-purpose filter for every shooting situation.
Specialist Note
The 95mm drop-in format places this filter in H&Y’s K-Series system, so it’s suited to photographers already working with that setup. The ND64 rating gives you a six-stop reduction in light: for example, a 1/60 sec exposure becomes roughly one second, a practical starting point for softening moving water in daylight. The CPL is useful when reflections on a pond or window are competing with the detail you want to show; its effect depends on the angle of the light and your viewpoint. I’d choose this combination when both exposure control and reflected glare matter. It’s a more specialised option than a plain ND filter, so its appeal depends on needing both effects.
