Hahnemühle DFA Torchon 285GSM 91.4cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA Torchon 285GSM 91.4cmx12m | Wide-format paper for planned print runs

Choosing paper for a larger print job can be awkward when the size you need doesn’t match the format on the shelf. Hahnemühle DFA Torchon is printer paper supplied in a 91.4 cm by 12 m format, with a stated weight of 285 gsm. That gives you a substantial length to work with when planning a run of prints or other wide-format output. It’s suited to photographers, printmakers and studios looking for paper in this specific wide format, rather than a small pack of sheets. The name identifies the paper as DFA Torchon; the product details here don’t establish a particular surface effect or printer match, so I wouldn’t choose it on those assumptions. The practical appeal is straightforward: a long, wide piece of paper and a clear weight, which makes it easier to judge whether the format suits the work you have in mind.

For print planning, start with the finished size of your work and how many copies you expect to make. A long format can be useful when the job calls for repeated output or larger layouts, but you’ll still want to plan your cuts and margins around the image dimensions. That’s a simple check, and it can save wasted paper.

The 285 gsm figure is helpful when comparing paper by weight, while the width and length let you assess the amount of material against a specific project. If those measurements fit your workflow, this Hahnemühle paper gives you a defined format to work from. Its name is specific, too: DFA Torchon. Choose it for the product and dimensions stated, rather than relying on assumptions about how it will look or which printer it will suit.
