Hama Ext Cord Pro 5m White

Hama Ext Cord Pro 5m White | Five metres of extra cable reach

Without an extension cable, a cable run stops where the original cable runs out. The Hama Ext Cord Pro gives you a five-metre extension in white, for situations where you need more reach and want a cable that’s easy to pick out from a darker floor or surface. It suits anyone who needs an extension cable of this length and colour; the name is refreshingly clear about those two details. Before settling on it, think about where the cable needs to go, rather than measuring only the gap between two points. A route around furniture or along a wall can take more length than a straight-line estimate suggests. The honest limit here is that the supplied details identify it as an extension cable, but don’t tell us which connections it has, so we can’t recommend it for a particular device or socket.

Plan the cable run

Five metres gives you a defined length to work with, but the useful reach depends on the path you choose. Measure from the point where the cable will start to the place it needs to reach, following the route you’d actually lay it along. Leave room for bends and for keeping the cable out of the way; measuring straight across a room can give a misleading result. The white finish may suit a setup where a light-coloured cable is preferable, though how noticeable it looks will depend on the surface beneath it. If you’re comparing extension cables, this one is easy to narrow down by length and colour. For a confident match, the connection details matter too, so make sure those suit your intended use.
