Hama Filter Premium UV 390 Nano 82 mm
Hama Filter Premium UV 390 Nano 82 mm | UV filtration for outdoor photography
On a bright day, distant hills can look washed out, and a clear filter can also help keep everyday handling away from the front of your lens. The Hama Filter Premium UV 390 Nano is a UV filter for lenses with an 82 mm filter thread. Its job is to filter ultraviolet light, which can help reduce UV haze in outdoor scenes; it’s a straightforward option for landscape photographers and anyone who often shoots in daylight. Fit matters: the filter size needs to match the thread on your lens. Once fitted, it can stay in place for general outdoor photography, though it won’t polarize reflections or deepen a blue sky in the way a polarizing filter can. The name identifies the Premium UV 390 Nano version, but doesn’t give a basis for claims about specific coating performance or image-quality gains. Choose it for UV filtration, with realistic expectations about what that does.
Specialist Note
Keeping fingerprints and everyday knocks away from the front of a lens is a sensible reason to leave a filter fitted outdoors. This Hama is made for an 82 mm thread, so it suits a lens with that exact filter size; it won’t fit a smaller or larger thread. The UV 390 designation tells you this is the UV-filter version, useful when photographing distant landscapes in strong daylight where UV haze can soften the view. I’d consider it for regular outdoor use, rather than expecting it to change reflections or sky contrast. For those effects, you’d want a polarizing filter instead.
