Hama Filter Ultimate UV 52 mm
Hama Filter Ultimate UV 52 mm | A simple layer in front of your lens
Keep the front of a 52 mm lens covered outdoors, while making photographs of open landscapes and distant views. The Hama Filter Ultimate UV 52 mm is a UV filter for a lens with a 52 mm filter thread. It’s suited to photographers who want a filter in place as a first barrier against dust and accidental contact, and who also want a filter designed to reduce the effect of ultraviolet light. UV light can contribute to haze in some conditions, though the visible difference may be slight with a digital camera. That makes this filter most useful as a practical layer for everyday outdoor photography, rather than as a way to transform a hazy scene. Fit it to a lens with the matching thread size, and you can keep the lens front covered while photographing on a walk, in the garden or on a bright day out. It’s a straightforward option when you want UV filtration in a familiar 52 mm size.
Specialist Note
A bare lens front can be one more thing to worry about when you’re moving around outside; this filter gives that surface a layer in front of it. The 52 mm size is the key detail when choosing it: it’s for a lens with a matching 52 mm filter thread, so check the marking on the lens rather than relying on the camera body. As a UV filter, it’s intended to reduce ultraviolet light, which can help with haze in some situations. I’d consider it for outdoor walks or garden photography, where the filter can stay in place as you work. One honest caveat: on digital cameras, don’t expect it to make distant haze disappear.
