Hama Filter UV 77mm 70077 700 Serie
Hama Filter UV 77mm 70077 700 Serie | Filters ultraviolet light for outdoor scenes
Outdoor views can look hazy, and choosing a filter that matches your lens can be an unnecessary hassle. The Hama Filter UV is a straightforward ultraviolet filter sized for lenses that take 77 mm filters. Its purpose is to filter ultraviolet light, which can help limit UV-related haze in distant outdoor scenes. It suits photographers who want this specific kind of filtration and know their lens takes the matching filter size. Its strongest use is as a simple option for landscape and travel photography in daylight, where distant scenery can be affected by haze. Keep expectations measured: it isn’t a general image-enhancement filter, and it won’t remove mist or atmospheric haze. If you’re choosing a filter mainly for a visible change in colour or sharpness, this isn’t the reason to buy it.
Choosing when to use it
Think of this as a purpose-led filter: its appeal is UV filtration, not a set of extra effects. It makes most sense when you want that function on a lens with the corresponding filter size. For ordinary scenes where UV haze isn’t a concern, you may prefer to photograph without adding a filter.
Specialist Note
“Is the Hama UV filter in 77 mm the right size for my lens?” It’s made for a lens that takes a 77 mm filter, so that size is the key thing to match. The UV designation tells you its job: filtering ultraviolet light, which can help with haze in distant outdoor views. I’d consider it for landscape photography on a clear day, especially when the scene includes far-off hills or buildings; use it on a lens with the matching filter thread and keep your expectations realistic. It won’t clear actual mist, and it isn’t a shortcut to extra sharpness. For those specific needs, though, the purpose is refreshingly clear.
